Punta Abreojos is a small fishing town in Baja California Sur, Mexico. It has an exposed point break that provides excellent waves, great spot for windsurfing, surfing and kitesurfing. It is known by windsurfers and kiteboarders who take advantage of the predictable onshore afternoon winds from the northwest. The nearest town is San Ignacio and the nearest city is Mulege. This village has an almost prehistoric wildlife of fish species. The nearest airport to Punta Abreojos is in Loreto which is 234 km (145 miles) away. If you are driving, take the Mexico Highway number 1, just passing Turtle Bay. Kiteboard conditions: Ideal winds are from the north northwest. Almost empty here. Hazards include some rocks. The wind blows all year round, average wind speed from 12-25 knots. Dominant winds comes from the Northwest, side-onshore and offshore. The Best season is from September to April. During the winter you will need a wetsuite. Hability only for Intermediate to advance. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. |
