Cozumel Island was just what we needed for a day trip, we were looking for a change of scenery in the Mexican Caribbean. Cozumel Island is located in the Yucatan Peninsula, Quintana Roo, right in front of Playa del Carmen. There is a water ferry that runs from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel each hour.
Upon arrival in Cozumel we rent some motorcycles to explore the Island. Unfortunately there was no wind enough for kiteboarding that day. There are many kite spots and perfect wide beaches for kitesurfing, you can find awesome waves on the north side.
There is a secret spot in a flat lagoon called Isla de la Pasión or Passion Island. When the north wind comes, Punta Norte is the best place for kiteboarding.
Cozumel has many beautiful beaches and ocean, many restaurants and shops in downtown. The water is crystal clear with light azure and turquoise colors. Many outdoor activities, scuba diving, fishing and snorkeling.
