Tampico, Tamaulipas

Tampico is a port in the state of Tamaulipas, in the north of the country and now is one of Mexico’s most important ports. Tampico is situated north across the border from the State of Veracruz in the Gulf of Mexico. Tampico is a multicultural city surrounded by rivers and lagoons, it has beautiful landscapes.

Miramar beach, one of the most famous tourist attractions, it has more than 6 miles of white sand beaches, coconut palm trees and some waves. This beach is the ideal spot for kiteboarding, windsurfing and even surfing. Here you can find many restaurants, bars, hotels, banks etc. The speciality is sea food, like the crab. In the downtown you will find an amazing architecture and the typical Mexican Plaza. It has an international airport.

Kite Conditions:

The best spot for kiteboarding is Playa Miramar. The best season: October, November, December, January, February, March, April. The Best Direction: N, SE. The main Direction is N, SE.

You can have some sand bottomed and shallow waters. Most of the wind is SE sideonshore from 10 to 20 knots. When the North winds arrive, it gets more than 20 knots.
