The competition took place in Los Barriles, Baja California Sur for 4 days in mid january 2015. The event is considered the most important international kiteboarding competition in Baja California and one of the largest in Mexico, bringing kiters from all the world. The event is organized by The Rotary Club of Los Barriles Cabo Este, having the goal to improve the overall quality of life on the East Cape without changing the rich heritage of the area, encouraging the local population to learn computation and to support the local community.
The competition included 4 different disciplines of kitesurfing: course racing, slalom racing, freestyle and big air contest. The races were organized by Robbie Dean, the Director of Racing for St Francis Yacht Club and member of the IKA and AKA. We were really proud to be part of this great event in Mexico and to see that some organizations support the mexican communities.
