The Top 20 mexican kiteboarders from different states such as Baja California Sur, Jalisco, Quintana Roo, Veracruz, Campeche, Yucatan, Puebla, Colima and Nayarit, came together to participate at the national kiteboarding championship called KiteFestBoca 2016. This tournament was held for the second time on the beautiful beaches of Boca del Rio, Veracruz. Participants and spectators had guaranteed lot of action, wind, sun and fun during the 3 days of the tournament (25. – 27. November).
The athletes amazed the public with high jumps and incredible tricks and movements in the air. So far it has been the national tournament that has shown the best level of kiteboarding in the history of the championships endorsed by the AMK (Asociación Mexicana de Kiteboarding).
We are proud to see so much young Mexican talent in the competition. Congratulations to the winners of the different disciplines such as big air and freestyle. Winner of the tournament was the 16 year old Anthar Racca, who, in addition to being number 1 in the national ranking, has been representing Mexico on world tours and is currently world kiteboarding champion in the Junior category for the third consecutive time.
Last but not least a big thanks and shout-out to Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez, the mayor of Boca del Río, to the organizers of the event, Eduardo Betancourt and José Carlos Jiménez from Verakite, and to Blanca Castellanos Mier and her team from Distrito Boca, for their hard work, excellent attention and incredible hospitality.
